McFly in Manchester evening news!

Artikeln kommer från Manchester Evening News:

"HUNKY Boltonian Danny Jones and his band McFly will make a live return to the region at a week long festival of music in Wigan.

The pop-rock band kicks off five nights of events on July 5 in the grounds of Haigh Hall, Wigan, with support from young upstarts Twenty Twenty.

In a star studded week that follows, Katherine Jenkins, The Saturdays and Boyzone’s Ronan Keating headline while Alesha Dixon and N-Dubz share a bill. Supporting performances come from Tinie Tempah, French tenor Amaury Vassili and lad band The Wanted – featuring Rihanna rumoured new squeeze Siva Kaneswaran.

But McFly’s cheeky frontman Tom Fletcher tells me that he’s not worried about playing an outdoor gig on the doorstep of Britain’s rainy city. “Some of the best shows we’ve ever done have been when it’s been raining,” he laughs.

“Outdoor gigs are always a lot of fun because they’re unusual venues. We’re really looking forward to playing at Haigh Hall.”

Tom says the band might even air a couple of songs from their new album, due out later this year. “We’re not finished with the album yet, but we’ve been recording it for a year,” he reveals.

“It sounds amazing, it’s gone really well; we’re so excited about it that we’re taking our time with it to make sure we get it right.

“We’ve been working with different people and experimenting with different producers and sounds. We’ve worked with Dallas Austin, who is a legendary pop and urban producer, and so that might filter in a little!

“But we’ve been concentrating so much on the new songs that it’s nice to get back out and play the classics.”

Tickets are available for all shows www.wlct.org/concerts."
